Saudi Opens Consular Section of Kabul Embassy as of Tuesday

Saudi Arabia announced that it was opening the consular section in its embassy in the Afghani capital of Kabul as of Tuesday to provide consular services to Afghani citizens, state news agency (SPA) reported.

In August, Saudi evacuated all of its diplomats from the embassy in Kabul after the Taliban movement overtook the country in a swift sweep.

Saudi Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah has met with his Brazilian counterpart, Mauro Vieira, in Rio de Janeiro.

Monday’s meeting took place on the sidelines of the BRICS Summit 2025, in which the Kingdom is participating as a country invited to join the group.

During the talks, the two foreign ministers reviewed bilateral relations and discussed ways to enhance them, as well as topics of mutual interest.

The meeting was attended by Saudi Ambassador to Brazil Dr. Faisal bin Ibrahim Ghulam.
