Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi reiterated Egypt’s full support for everything that would achieve Libya's supreme interest and the free will of its people, and preserve its sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Sisi received in Cairo head of the Libyan Presidential Council Mohammed al-Menfi for the second time in a month.

They discussed developments in Libya and ongoing preparations to hold presidential and parliamentary elections scheduled on Friday.

Menfi commended the vital role played by Egypt and its sincere efforts, led by Sisi, to restore security and stability in Libya and unify its state institutions, especially the military, in line with the work of the 5 + 5 committee, stated presidency spokesperson Bassam Rady.

The two parties agreed to intensify consultations and coordination to follow up on developments in the political process and procedures for managing the transitional phase, in a way that helps restore Libya’s stability and unify its institutions.

The meeting was attended by Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry and head of General Intelligence, Abbas Kamel, and Libya's permanent representative to the Arab League, Ambassador Abdel Muttalib Idris.

China said on Thursday its arms trade with Thailand and Cambodia is unrelated to the current conflict between the Southeast Asian neighbours, with which Beijing has close ties.

"We hope relevant parties will refrain from making subjective speculation and malicious hype," the Chinese Defense Ministry said in response to reports that Thai troops seized Chinese-made weapons from Cambodian positions as border clashes between the two nations reignited, Reuters reported.

Beijing hopes the two countries can reach a ceasefire as soon as possible, the ministry said, adding that China will continue to advocate for peace and talks.

Border clashes between Thailand and Cambodia resumed this month and have killed more than 40 people and displaced over half a million in both countries.

China's Foreign Minister Wang Yi, in separate calls with his Thai and Cambodian counterparts on Thursday, also called for an immediate ceasefire and criticised "false information" that he said was aimed at smearing China's ties with the two countries.

"As a friend and close neighbour of both Cambodia and Thailand, China least wants to see the two sides engage in armed conflict, and is deeply saddened by civilian casualties caused by the clashes," the Foreign Ministry quoted Wang as saying.

China will continue to play a constructive role in facilitating peace, Wang said, urging both countries to protect the safety of Chinese projects and personnel.

Beijing last week warned Chinese citizens to leave border areas after media reports of injuries.

The Chinese Foreign Ministry said on Wednesday a special envoy for Asian affairs would be visiting Cambodia and Thailand on Thursday to conduct mediation.

The Literature, Publishing and Translation Commission launched Children’s Literary Week in Qatif Governorate.

The four-day event aims to enhance the presence of literature in the lives of children and adolescents and to develop their creative skills through an integrated cultural experience, SPA reported.

The activities offer a diverse program that includes creative writing workshops, storytelling theater, and interactive sessions designed to transform reading into an enjoyable experience and a journey of discovery.

The program is delivered with the participation of a distinguished group of specialists in children’s literature and cultural content creation.

The program also provides children and adolescents with practical spaces to engage with literary texts and develop their storytelling and imaginative skills through initiatives that combine learning and entertainment, supporting the early discovery and nurturing of literary talents.

Saudi Industrial Development Fund Launches 'SIDF Terminology Dictionary' in Collaboration with KSGAAL

The Saudi Industrial Development Fund (SIDF), in collaboration with King Salman Global Academy for Arabic Language (KSGAAL), has launched the "SIDF Terminology Dictionary", an initiative aimed at enhancing the clarity and precision of the terms used in SIDF's operations and ensuring their alignment with applicable systems and policies. This launch coincides with the World Arabic Language Day, in celebration of the Arabic language and its role in expressing concepts of industry and development.

According to a press release issued by the SIDF today, the first edition of the dictionary includes more than 170 terms and definitions in both Arabic and English, covering financial, industrial, advisory, legal, and knowledge-related fields. It also features a dedicated section for abbreviations and the linguistic roots of selected words, enriching Arabic content with specialized terminology and strengthening its linguistic and knowledge value.

The dictionary aims to broaden understanding of SIDF's terminology among those interested in its activities while serving as an official reference for both internal and external audiences. It also targets researchers, partners, clients, and professionals engaged with SIDF, providing a unified knowledge tool that enhances effective communication and standardizes language use across diverse and varied contexts.

The release added that the dictionary features an interactive design that allows readers to easily access information, browse terms, and search for definitions in a clear and seamless manner.
