SPDRY Launches More than 200 Projects in Yemen

The Saudi Program for the Development and Reconstruction of Yemen (SPDRY)

The Saudi Program for the Development and Reconstruction of Yemen (SPDRY) revealed that a total of 204 projects were implemented across Yemen.


They covered various fields, including the economic and developments sectors.


While the Saudi Program continues its fruitful efforts, the Yemeni Prime Minister commended the qualitative and influential contributions to the vital sectors in Yemen.


Yemen's Prime Minister Maeen Abdulmalik pinned high hopes on this role played by the SPDRY to restore stability and economic growth.


Abdulmalik met in the temporary capital Aden the Director of the Aden-based SDRPY's office, Ahmed Madkhali, official Yemeni sources said.


The PM expressed the appreciation of Yemen's leadership and its people to Saudi Arabia for its support in these circumstances.


He further noted the positive impact of the SPDRY projects in several domains, adding that Yemenis across the country felt the tangible impact.


The Saudi deposit, oil derivatives’ grant, and other projects backed the governmental efforts to alleviate the humanitarian crisis, noted Abdulmalik.


SPDRY projects achieved a transitional leap from aid to development through implementing projects in the services and infrastructure sectors, he affirmed.


During the meeting, Madkhali presented a report on the projects implemented by the Saudi Program.


Up to 204 projects were implemented focusing on seven sectors including education, health, water, energy, transportation, roads, agriculture, fish wealth, in addition to building the state institutions’ capabilities.


The Saudi Program carried out 26 projects in the energy sector, 32 initiatives in the water sector, 22 projects in the health sector, in addition to 36 projects in the transportation sector, Madkhali added.


SPDRY also conducted 18 projects in the agricultural sector, 41 projects in the education sector, 17 projects for governmental buildings, and 12 development programs.
