Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, launched the inaugural World Defense Show in Riyadh on Sunday.

The event is organized by the General Authority for Military Industries and will run until March 9.

Over 590 companies representing 42 countries are taking part in the exhibition.

A number of national government agencies operating in the defense and security sector and others related to the military and defense industries sector are also taking part.

Crown Prince Mohammed toured the exhibition and was briefed on the virtual command and control center, which is equipped with the latest systems and technologies that simulate the future of command and control centers produced by major international defense companies.

The Crown Prince was accompanied during the opening ceremony by Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif bin Abdulaziz, Minister of Interior; Prince Abdullah bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, Minister of National Guard; and Prince Khalid bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Minister of Defense.

He was also escorted by Chairman of the Supervisory Committee of the World Defense Exhibition Ahmed bin Aqeel Al-Khatib; Head of State Security Abdulaziz Al-Huwairini; Governor of the General Authority for Military Industries Eng. Ahmed bin Abdulaziz Al-Ohali; Chief of the General Staff Lieutenant General Fayyad Al-Ruwaili; the Commander of the Joint Forces Lieutenant General Mutlaq bin Salem Al-Azaima; Assistant Minister of Defense for Executive Affairs Khaled Al-Biyari; Director-General of the Office of the Minister of Defense Dr. Hisham Al Al-Sheikh; and Military Adviser to the Minister of Defense Major General Eng. Talal Al-Otaibi.

Saudi Arabia Dispatches 54 More Aid Trucks to Syria on Sunday

Fifty-four Saudi relief trucks crossed the Nasib Border Crossing into Syria on Sunday.

This comes as part of the Saudi humanitarian land bridge operated by the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief).

According to SPA, the trucks are carrying essential supplies, including food, shelter, and medical aid, to assist the Syrian people in their time of need.

So far, a total of 114 relief trucks have crossed the Syrian border, and 13 relief planes have arrived at Damascus International Airport as part of Saudi Arabia's ongoing efforts to support brotherly nations during crises.
