Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Dr. Nayef Al-Hajraf renewed on Tuesday his call on the Iran-backed Houthi militias to attend the intra-Yemeni consultations.

The consultations kicked off in Riyadh on Tuesday. All Yemeni parties have been invited to hold consultations with the aim of reaching peace and stability in Yemen.

The Houthis must prioritize the interests of Yemen and ease the suffering of their people, urged Al-Hajraf.

He called on the Saudi-led Arab coalition and all Yemeni parties to cease military operations in Yemen. The call stems from the keenness of the leaders and people of the Gulf countries on achieving peace and stability in Yemen.

The consultations will conclude on April 7.

The ceasefire plea was made days before the advent of the holy fasting month of Ramadan, which begins in early April.
