Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan held a phone call Wednesday with Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky.

The leaders discussed the latest developments in the Ukraine crisis and the progress made in the Russia-Ukraine peace negotiations.

During the call, Sheikh Mohamed stressed the importance of finding peaceful solutions through negotiation, dialogue and understanding, to ensure ending the crisis and its fallout and bringing peace back to Ukraine, state news agency WAM reported.

"We must prioritize ensuring the safety of civilians and enhancing efforts and coordination between countries and humanitarian organizations to provide assistance to affected Ukrainian citizens," he noted.

He also affirmed the UAE's support to efforts taken to accelerate reaching a peaceful settlement to the crisis through diplomatic means.

For his part, Zelensky expressed his thanks and appreciation to the UAE for welcoming Ukrainian citizens and its efforts in facilitating their entry and providing urgent humanitarian aid since the crises began.

The Muslim World League (MWL) has extended its heartfelt condolences and deepest sympathies to the Republic of Indonesia, as well as to the families of the victims, the injured, and the missing, following the tragic sinking of a ferry near the island of Bali.

In an official statement, the MWL expressed its solidarity with the Indonesian people, offering particular support and compassion to the families affected by this devastating incident.

On Thursday, a ferry carrying 65 people sank near Indonesia’s resort island of Bali, resulting in multiple fatalities and leaving several others missing.
