OIC Welcomes Announcement of Yemen Truce

The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has welcomed the announcement made by the Special Envoy of the UN Secretary-General to Yemen, Hans Grundberg, that the parties to the Yemeni conflict agreed to a two-month truce.

During the truce, all forms of military operations inside Yemen and across the border would be halted.

The OIC expressed its appreciation of the UN envoy’s efforts, hoping that the truce would alleviate the suffering of the Yemeni people and provide appropriate conditions for the Yemeni parties to reduce escalation and reach a comprehensive political settlement of the conflict that would achieve peace, security and stability in Yemen and the region.

During 2025, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) delivered over 35,000 tons of food, shelter, and medical supplies to 61 countries worldwide using 1,182 trucks, 89 ships, and 41 aircraft, ensuring that aid reached crisis-affected regions across the globe, SPA reported.

This extensive initiative reflects the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's steadfast commitment to humanitarian values and international solidarity.

Through KSrelief, the Kingdom continues to play a leading role in alleviating human suffering and upholding the dignity of vulnerable populations, reinforcing its position as a top global donor.

The Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's welcome of the statement issued by the Syrian government regarding the ceasefire agreement between the Syrian government and the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), under a comprehensive agreement that includes the integration of the self-administration institutions into the Syrian state institutions.

In a statement issued on Friday, the ministry said that the Kingdom hopes that this comprehensive agreement will contribute to supporting Syria's path towards peace, security, and stability, fulfilling the aspirations of the brotherly Syrian people and strengthening their national unity, SPA reported.

The Kingdom also reiterated its full support for all efforts exerted by the Syrian government to preserve the nation's sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity.

The statement added that the Kingdom commends the responsiveness of the Syrian government and the SDF to the Kingdom's efforts, as well as the efforts of the United States to consolidate de-escalation and reach this agreement.

Saudi Minister of Defense Prince Khalid bin Salman bin Abdulaziz met on Friday at the White House in Washington, D.C., with US Secretary of State and Acting National Security Advisor Marco Rubio, US Secretary of War Pete Hegseth, and US Special Envoy to the Middle East Steve Witkoff, the Saudi Press Agency said.

During the meeting, they reviewed the strategic relations between the two friendly countries, explored prospects for the Saudi-American partnership and ways to strengthen and develop it, and discussed ongoing efforts to establish peace both in the region and globally.

The meeting was attended by Saudi Ambassador to the US Princess Reema bint Bandar bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz, Chief of General Staff Lieutenant General Fayyad Al-Ruwaili, and other senior officials.
