Saudi FM Leads Gulf Side in Meeting with Britain

Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah led on Wednesday the Gulf side of the ministerial meeting between the Gulf Cooperation Council countries and the United Kingdom.

The British side was chaired by Britain's foreign minister James Cleverly.

The meeting took place on the sidelines of the 77th session of the General Assembly of the United Nations in New York.

The Saudi FM renewed the Kingdom’s heartfelt condolences on the loss of Queen Elizabeth II, and renewed congratulations to Britain's new monarch King Charles on the accession to the throne.

The discussions during the meeting highlighted the friendly relations between the GCC countries and the UK, and the ways to promote them at various levels.

The talks also touched on regional and international issues of mutual interest to both parties and emphasized the need to maintain security and stability in the region.

Saudi Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah met on Thursday with Thai Minister of Foreign Affairs Maris Sangiampongsa in Bangkok.

The two sides discussed bilateral relations and explored ways to enhance cooperation across various fields. They also addressed regional and international issues of mutual interest.

Attending the meeting were Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs Ambassador Dr. Saud Al-Sati, Saudi Ambassador to Thailand Abdulrahman Al-Suhaibani, Advisor to the Foreign Minister Mohammed Al-Yahya, and Assistant Director General of the Office of the Minister of Foreign Affairs Waleed Al-Ismail.
