Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, received on Tuesday a written message from Swedish Prime Minister Magdalena Andersson.

The message hailed the role Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman in mediating a prisoner swap between Russia and Ukraine amid the conflict between them.

This reflects his keenness on supporting all international efforts to resolve the conflict through political means and ease its impact, it added.

The message was received by deputy Foreign Minister Waleed al-Khuraiji, on behalf of Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, during a meeting with Swedish Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Petra Menander in Riyadh.

The officials discussed bilateral relations between their countries and ways to develop them in various fields.

They also exchanged views on issues of common interest.

Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Jassem Albudaiwi welcomed the statement issued by the Arab Ministerial Contact Group on Syria, which was formed under decision No. 8914.
The statement was issued during the extraordinary session of the Arab League Council, SPA reported.
The group consists of representatives of Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Iraq, Lebanon, and Egypt, and the Arab League secretary general.
The meeting was attended by the foreign ministers of the United Arab Emirates, the State of Qatar, and the Kingdom of Bahrain, the current president of the Arab Summit, in Aqaba, Jordan.
Albudaiwi reaffirmed the support of the GCC member states for all efforts aimed at achieving the unity, sovereignty, security, and stability of the Syrian Arab Republic, and said it is standing by the Syrian people, and will provide them with all necessary support.
He also said that the statement issued will contribute to the construction and prosperity of Syria, and help end the tragedy and suffering of the Syrian people.
