Saudi Arabia announced on Friday that it had thwarted two attempts to smuggle more than 2.4 million captagon pills at the Jeddah Islamic Port and Empty Quarter Port. 

The Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority said 1,213,378 captagon pills were seized at the Empty Quarter Port and 1,215,353 pills hidden in a cement shipment at the Jeddah port. 

Six suspects have been arrested. 

Authorities stressed that they will continue to crack down on smuggling operations to protect society from drugs and other banned substances.

Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud received a written message from President of Côte d'Ivoire Alassane Ouattara on bilateral relations between the two countries and peoples, and ways to strengthen joint cooperation.

The message was received by Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Waleed Elkhereiji during a meeting on Wednesday with Côte d'Ivoire’s Ambassador to the Kingdom Drissa Coulibaly.

During the meeting, they also reviewed relations between the two countries and discussed ways to support and strengthen them.
