Saudi Arabia’s King Salman bin Abdulaziz and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman on Tuesday ordered the operation of an air bridge to provide aid to help the earthquake victims in Syria and Türkiye.

Abdullah bin Abdulaziz al-Rabeeah, advisor to the Royal Court and the Supervisor General of the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief), confirmed that Saudi rescue, rapid intervention, and medical teams headed to areas affected by the earthquake.

Al-Rabeeah also announced that an air bridge will be launched in the coming hours to deliver shelter, health, food, and logistical aid.

“Saudi humanitarian work is not linked to politics (...) or any religious, political, military or ethnic agenda,” stressed al-Rabeeah, adding that KSrelief has long worked to alleviate the suffering of the Syrian people.

“We care about the injured without regard to any political affiliation. We will reach our brothers and children in Syria in all regions through our ongoing work with UN and local organizations,” said al-Rabeeah in a Wednesday presser in Riyadh.
Al-Rabeeah also noted that donations will be collected by a campaign through the "Sahem" platform.

The head of KSrelief confirmed that the assistance provided comes out of the keenness of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and the Crown Prince to stand by those affected by the quake in Syria and Türkiye.

Under this generous directive, al-Rabeeah said that food, shelter, and medical aid will be provided in support of rescue efforts and relief for those afflicted by this disaster.

“The campaign includes the implementation of various programs, including the launch of an air bridge in the coming hours to deliver shelter, health, food and logistical aid to those affected,” asserted al-Rabeeah.

“Rescue, rapid intervention, and emergency medical teams will partner with volunteering Saudi cadres to alleviate the suffering of the people,” he added.

Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Secretary-General Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi welcomed on Wednesday the agreement between the legitimate Yemeni government and Iran-backed Houthi militias to de-escalate the situation with regard to the Yemeni banking sector and airlines.

The agreement was announced by the United Nations Secretary-General's Special Envoy to Yemen, Hans Grundberg, on Tuesday.

Albudaiwi expressed the GCC's support for all regional and international efforts and the efforts led by the UN special envoy aimed at achieving peace and security in Yemen.

The announcement underscores the importance the international community attaches to the Yemeni crisis, he added, hoping the agreement will pave the way for Yemeni parties to start the political process, under UN auspices, to reach a comprehensive political solution that achieves security and stability in the country.

He reiterated the GCC's continued support and full solidarity with Yemen, its government and people, and its keenness to encourage all efforts to de-escalate and maintain stability in order to reach peace.
