Emir of Qatar Meets with Saudi Minister of Economy and Planning

Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani received on Tuesday Saudi Minister of Economy and Planning Faisal bin Fadhil Al-Ibrahim on the sidelines of the Fifth United Nations Conference on the Least Developed Countries (LDC5), which is being held in Doha, reported the Saudi Press Agency.

The minister is heading the Kingdom’s delegation at the conference.

The delegation includes representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Finance, Saudi Fund for Development (SFD), Saudi Program for the Development and Reconstruction of Yemen (SPDRY), and King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief).

The Kingdom's delegation will participate in a number of plenary sessions and high-level meetings, and will host three side events throughout the conference.

Minister Al-Ibrahim will hold meetings with senior officials to discuss areas of cooperation to promote economic development in the least developed countries.

Saudi, US Energy Ministers Visit Kingdom’s First Oil Well

Saudi Minister of Energy Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman, his American counterpart Chris Wright and Aramco CEO Amin Nasser visited on Monday the Kingdom’s first ever oil well - Well No. 1 - in the Dammam region.

The well was drilled by the Arabian-American Oil Company - now known as Aramco - in 1935, marking a landmark moment in Saudi Arabia’s history and oil industry.

Wright is an official visit to the region that he kicked off in the United Arab Emirates and followed by Saudi Arabia. Qatar is his next stop.

Prince Abdulaziz and Wright had held talks on aspects of cooperation between their countries in several energy fields.
