The Saudi government reiterated on Tuesday the Kingdom’s firm stance that calls for bolstering coexistence and mutual respect between people around the world.

Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz chaired the cabinet meeting that was held in Riyadh.

The ministers highlighted the Kingdom’s participation at the 49th session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). At the event, the Kingdom stressed its continued support to collective work, especially on the humanitarian and development levels.

The government renewed its support to aiding the victims of last month’s devastating earthquake that struck Syria and Türkiye. Saudi Arabia had taken part on Monday in a donor conference in Brussels that pledged seven billion euros to Syria and Türkiye.

King Salman congratulated Muslims on the advent of the holy fasting month of Ramadan, which the Kingdom announced will begin on Thursday.

He hoped this year's holy month will bring peace for Muslims and the entire world.

He directed authorities concerned with serving visitors of the Two Holy Mosques to continue to work with the highest efficiency and excellence to ensure that visitors smoothly perform their rituals.

Domestically, the cabinet stressed that the positive estimates credit rating agencies have of the Kingdom's economy reflect the effectiveness of the reforms undertaken by the state, such as developing the public finance management, improving the quality of financial planning, and making more efficient use of resources under the financial sustainability program.

Minister of Media Salman bin Yousef Al-Dosari said the Kingdom's climbing 15 places in the Global Innovation Index 2022, as shown by the World Intellectual Property Organization, is a reflection of the continued interest and support the state attaches to upgrading the quality of research, development and innovation sector. This will boost the Kingdom's global competitiveness and leadership in line with its Vision 2030.
