Information ministers of countries calling for combating terrorism have welcomed the US strategy on Iran, the biggest state sponsor of terrorism, stressing the significance of combating terror and those sponsoring it.
During a meeting they held in Manama on Sunday, the ministers of Saudi Arabia, Egypt, the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain emphasized the need to address Qatar's meddling in the internal affairs of Arab countries and its systematic policy of subversion that supports political Islam which adopts terrorism as a means to achieve goals.
The ministers also attached great importance to addressing the hate rhetoric sponsored by Qatar’s government and media and the policy of isolating the Qatari people from their Gulf and Arab environments.
They called for promoting values of tolerance and cultural diversity, as well as positive interaction between communities and highlighting the civilized image of the Gulf region.
Reinforcing joint media action to serve international efforts to combat extremism, terrorism and hate speech were also discussed during the meeting of the information ministers.
