Yemeni Prime Minister Ahmed Obeid bin Daghr said on Sunday he was back in Aden to stop the situation from deteriorating, and to prevent more damages to people’s lives, their security and interests.

“There will be no more bloodshed or fighting because the government is back to Aden. We will exert all our efforts to stop the security situation from further deterioration and to halt assassination attempts against dozens of religious and military figures,” the PM said.

Two months after leaving to Saudi Arabia's capital Riyadh, bin Daghr and a number of ministers returned to Yemen last Thursday to run the country from the southern city of Aden, the temporary capital.

The prime minister promised Yemenis that his government would work on restoring electricity, water and other services to all areas.

“Thanks to your support, we will succeed in restoring security and services,” bin Dagher said.

The prime minister also promised that his cabinet would work on new projects in Aden, Lahej, Abin and Dhale.

“We will also enhance the efforts of the National Army and the Resistance to liberate the city of Taez, from where we would achieve victory,” he said.

Speaking at a gathering organized by the Education Ministry in Aden on Sunday, bin Dagher promised that his government would support the army’s victory in the cities of Marib, Al-Jawf, Al-Bayda, and Al-Hodeidah.

The prime minister promised to chase ISIS and al-Qaeda cells until they disarm and stop violent acts. “We promise to protect our country from extremism and radicalization which is causing violence, bloodshed and destruction in Yemen,” he said.

Bin Dagher added that the problem in Yemen is over national identity.

“There are attempts to search for a new identity that has nothing to do with the past or present history of Yemen,” he said.

The European Union on Monday condemned new Israeli measures to tighten control of the West Bank and pave the way for more settlements in the occupied Palestinian territory, AFP reported.

"The European Union condemns recent decisions by Israel's security cabinet to expand Israeli control in the West Bank. This move is another step in the wrong direction," EU spokesman Anouar El Anouni told journalists.

The atrocities unleashed on El-Fasher in Sudan's Darfur region last October were a "preventable human rights catastrophe", the United Nations said Monday, warning they now risked being repeated in the neighbouring Kordofan region.

"My office sounded the alarm about the risk of mass atrocities in the besieged city of El-Fasher for more than a year ... but our warnings were ignored," UN rights chief Volker Turk told the Human Rights Council in Geneva.

He added that he was now "extremely concerned that these violations and abuses may be repeated in the Kordofan region".

The General Secretariat of the Arab League strongly condemned decisions by Israeli occupation authorities to impose fundamental changes on the legal and administrative status of the occupied Palestinian territories, particularly in the West Bank, describing them as a dangerous escalation and a flagrant violation of international law, international legitimacy resolutions, and signed agreements, SPA reported.

In a statement, the Arab League said the measures include facilitating the confiscation of private Palestinian property and transferring planning and licensing authorities in the city of Hebron and the area surrounding the Ibrahimi Mosque to occupation authorities.

It warned of the serious repercussions of these actions on the rights of the Palestinian people and on Islamic and Christian holy sites.

The statement reaffirmed the Arab League’s firm support for the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, foremost among them the establishment of their independent state on the June 4, 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
