Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz received at the Royal Court at Mina Palace on Tuesday a number of princes, the Grand Mufti, scholars, sheikhs, Gulf Cooperation Council senior invited officials, ministers and commanders of military sectors participating in this year's Hajj season.

The audience also included leaders of scouts in the Kingdom who are participating in the Hajj.

The guests came to greet King Salman and congratulate him on the Eid Al-Adha holiday.

Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, was also in attendance.

Addressing the gatherers, King Salman congratulated them on the advent of Eid al-Adha.

He added: “Allah Almighty honored this blessed country with the service of pilgrims and visitors of the Two Holy Mosques that allows them to perform Hajj rituals with ease. All efforts made to serve pilgrims are a source of pride for our country since its establishment by late King Abdulaziz.”

“The pilgrims and the whole world are watching your efforts in serving the pilgrims. This is your duty and an honor,” he continued.

“We are proud of the great sacrifices made by the military in defending our country and protecting its holy places. On this blessed day, we remember our martyrs and heroes who sacrificed their lives for their religion and homeland,” he added.

King Salman then threw a luncheon banquet in honor of his guests.

Kuwait's foreign ministry issued on Sunday a circular indicating that it had listed eight hospitals in Lebanon as part of regulations related to "combating terrorism.”

Lebanon's health ministry expressed surprise and said it would seek clarification.

It said it received the Kuwaiti statement "with great surprise", adding it had not been provided with "any information or notification from any Kuwaiti entity about this matter.”

"The hospitals mentioned in the statement are registered with the syndicate of private hospitals in Lebanon and carry out their role in providing treatment and health services to all Lebanese without exception," the ministry statement said.

It called the facilities "an essential part of the Lebanese health system,” and said it would contact the relevant authorities to request clarification and "protect Lebanon's health system.”

It noted that "Kuwait has numerous joint projects with the ministry... and has been among the most prominent countries that have stood by the health system during the successive crises that Lebanon has faced.”

The latest move was "unprecedented and inconsistent" with the Gulf country's usual approach, it added.
