King Salman Reshuffles Cabinet

Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz issued Thursday a royal decree to reshuffle Saudi Arabia's cabinet.

Ibrahim al-Assaf has been appointed as the new foreign minister, replacing Adel al-Jubeir, who was appointed Minister of State for Foreign Affairs. Also, Abdullah bin Bandar bin Abdul Aziz was appointed as the Minister of National Guard, while Turki al-Shabana was named as Minister of Information and Hamad Al Sheikh as Minister of Education.

Iman al-Mutairi was appointed as assistant to the Minister of Commerce.

Prince Abdul Aziz bin Turki al-Faisal was appointed as chairman of the General Sports Authority replacing Turki Al Asheikh, who was appointed as the chairman of the General Entertainment Authority.

Moreover, Badr bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz Al Saud was appointed deputy governor of Makkah Region. Turki bin Talal replaced Faisal bin Khaled as the governer of al-Asir region, while Badr bin Sultan was relieved of his post and replaced by Faisal bin Nawaf as governor of al-Jouf region. Mansour bin Mohammad bin Saad Al Saud was further appointed as Hafr al-Batin's governor. Also, Prince Mohammed bin Nawaf bin Abdulaziz, the Kingdom's ambassador in London, was relieved of his post.

Sultan bin Salman was relieved of the presidency of the tourism authority and appointed as Board Director of Saudi Space Authority.

King Salman also issued a royal decree to form the General Authority for Exhibitions and Conferences.

The sixth relief plane, operated by the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief), left on Sunday the King Khalid International Airport bound for Damascus International Airport, carrying food, shelter, and medical supplies.
The assistance provides help for the Syrian people in their critical circumstances and reaffirms Saudi Arabia's longstanding support for the brotherly and friendly countries in times of crisis.
