King Salman, Saudi Crown Prince Meet with Pakistan’s PM in Jeddah

The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, received in Jeddah on Thursday the Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan, currently on a visit to the Kingdom.

During the meeting, the PM condemned the sabotage attack on Aramco plants in Biqayq and Khurais, stressing Pakistan's support for the Kingdom in the face of these blatant attacks.

King Salman expressed appreciation of Pakistan's position, stressing that Saudi Arabia is capable of dealing with the effects of this criminal act which aimed at destabilizing the security and stability of the region and global energy supplies, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.

The meeting also reviewed the close relations between the two countries and the latest regional and international developments.

Also, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, met at Al-Salam Palace with the Pakistani PM.

At the outset of the meeting, the PM strongly denounced again the attacks on Aramco facilities, expressing his country's stand with Saudi Arabia in confronting these sabotage acts.

The Crown Prince stressed that these acts aim to destabilize the region, affirming the importance of addressing such attacks, according to SPA.

The meeting was attended by Prince Turki bin Mohammed bin Fahd, Minister of the State and Member of the Cabinet; Prince Abdullah bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, Minister of National Guard; Dr. Ibrahim Al-Assaf, Minister of Foreign Affairs; Khalid Al-Humaidan, Chief of General Intelligence; Saudi Ambassador to Pakistan Nawaf Al-Malki, and the Pakistani Prime Minister's accompanying delegation, SPA added.

Kuwait's foreign ministry issued on Sunday a circular indicating that it had listed eight hospitals in Lebanon as part of regulations related to "combating terrorism.”

Lebanon's health ministry expressed surprise and said it would seek clarification.

It said it received the Kuwaiti statement "with great surprise", adding it had not been provided with "any information or notification from any Kuwaiti entity about this matter.”

"The hospitals mentioned in the statement are registered with the syndicate of private hospitals in Lebanon and carry out their role in providing treatment and health services to all Lebanese without exception," the ministry statement said.

It called the facilities "an essential part of the Lebanese health system,” and said it would contact the relevant authorities to request clarification and "protect Lebanon's health system.”

It noted that "Kuwait has numerous joint projects with the ministry... and has been among the most prominent countries that have stood by the health system during the successive crises that Lebanon has faced.”

The latest move was "unprecedented and inconsistent" with the Gulf country's usual approach, it added.
