Secretary General of the Muslim World League (MWL) Sheikh Dr. Mohammed bin Al-Issa met on Saturday with former UK Prime Minister Tony Blair, who is also Chairman of the Tony Blair Institute for Global Change.
A statement by the Saudi Press Agency said that the two officials discussed the means to promote positive change, enhance awareness on the human common values among nations and strengthen cultural relations and civilizational and social communication between followers of different religions and cultures.
They also discussed encouraging cultural and civilizational dialogue and intensifying programs to combat disease, poverty, illiteracy and ignorance all over the world.
The meeting touched on the need to cooperate in educational, research and cultural exchange programs in order to raise awareness of the importance of building on common human values, and the importance of spreading the concepts of religious tolerance and confronting the ideas of extremism and hatred.
