Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, received on Monday Lebanese Prime Minister Saad Hariri, who is currently on a visit to participate in the second UAE-Lebanon Investment Forum in Abu Dhabi.

Shortly after, the UAE news agency (WAM) reported that the UAE will lift a ban on its citizens travelling to Lebanon from Tuesday.

During the meeting held at Al Bahr Palace, Sheikh Mohamed and Hariri discussed bilateral relations and ways to enhance them across all levels, especially in the economic, investment and development domains in the best interest of the two fraternal countries, said a statement carried by WAM.

They reviewed the latest regional, Gulf and Arab developments and their repercussions on regional and international security.

Sheikh Mohamed emphasized that the UAE led by President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan is keen on boosting relations with Lebanon across various levels and to provide support to preserve its security and stability and fulfill the aspirations of its people to achieve development.

Hariri expressed his gratitude to the UAE for its continued support to Lebanon while confronting challenges, and stressed that this support mirrors the UAE's continued approach in its relations with Lebanon and its people.

Kuwait's foreign ministry issued on Sunday a circular indicating that it had listed eight hospitals in Lebanon as part of regulations related to "combating terrorism.”

Lebanon's health ministry expressed surprise and said it would seek clarification.

It said it received the Kuwaiti statement "with great surprise", adding it had not been provided with "any information or notification from any Kuwaiti entity about this matter.”

"The hospitals mentioned in the statement are registered with the syndicate of private hospitals in Lebanon and carry out their role in providing treatment and health services to all Lebanese without exception," the ministry statement said.

It called the facilities "an essential part of the Lebanese health system,” and said it would contact the relevant authorities to request clarification and "protect Lebanon's health system.”

It noted that "Kuwait has numerous joint projects with the ministry... and has been among the most prominent countries that have stood by the health system during the successive crises that Lebanon has faced.”

The latest move was "unprecedented and inconsistent" with the Gulf country's usual approach, it added.
