Saudi Arabia affirmed its commitment to work towards finding collective solutions to address common challenges, calling to facilitate the process of dialogue to ensure the comprehensiveness of policies and complete the achievements of G20.
This comes in parallel with the start of the first preparatory meetings for the G20 summit, which will be hosted by Saudi Arabia in November, where more than 140 events, meetings, forums, and workshops will take place.
The official representatives of the G20 leaders held their first meeting on Friday in Riyadh, to start discussing the summit’s general goal, “Seizing the opportunities of the 21st century for all.”
The meeting was headed by Dr. Fahd Al-Mubarak, the Saudi Minister of State, with the participation of representatives of states and international and regional organizations.
During the meeting, Mubarak said: “The responsibility of the G20 towards the world requires focusing on addressing current and emerging issues, tackling global challenges together, and making the world a better place for everyone.”
The first meeting of representatives focused on the axes of the Kingdom’s G20 presidency program, which includes human empowerment “by creating conditions that enable everyone to live, work and prosper, especially women and youth.”
The meeting's discussions cover policies on access to opportunities for all, sustainable development goals, trade and investment, financial inclusion, employment, women's empowerment, health, education, and tourism.
Another focus is the preservation of the planet “by promoting joint efforts to protect the environment.”
