Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, received on Friday a phone call from US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, the Saudi Press Agency reported.

During the telephone conversation, they reviewed the latest developments in Iraq and efforts exerted to defuse tensions in the region, SPA said.

They also discussed steps to maintain peace and stability in the Middle East during this turbulent phase, the state-run agency added.

The Saudi-Turkish Parliamentary Friendship Committee of the Shura Council, chaired by Committee Chairman and Shura Council member Dr. Ibrahim bin Mohammed Al-Qannas, convened in Riyadh for a meeting with its counterpart from the Turkish Grand National Assembly, led by Committee Chairman Nureddin Nebati.

The meeting was attended by members of both parliamentary groups, including representatives from the Shura Council and the Turkish-Saudi Parliamentary Friendship Group, reported the Saudi Press Agency on Monday.

Talks focused on issues of mutual interest between Saudi Arabia and Türkiye. Officials reviewed cooperation across various fields and explored avenues for strengthening joint efforts and parliamentary collaboration.

Particular emphasis was placed on fostering closer ties between the Shura Council and the Turkish Grand National Assembly to support broader frameworks of cooperation.

Discussions also covered shared interests in various sectors, reflecting the commitment of both nations to deepening their strategic partnership.
