Haifa Al-Muqrin Becomes KSA’s Permanent Representative to UNESCO

Princess Haifa Bint Abdulaziz Al-Muqrin was appointed permanent representative of Saudi Arabia to the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).

The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, has approved the move.

Until her appointment on Tuesday, Princess Haifa served as the assistant undersecretary for sustainable development affairs in the Ministry of Economy and Planning, in addition to being the assistant undersecretary for the G20 affairs within the same ministry.

Muqrin also served as a lecturer at the prestigious King Saud University in Riyadh and for the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), where she worked for several years on programs focused on social development and human rights.

Princess Haifa obtained her Master’s degree in Economics in 2007 from the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) in the United Kingdom, and a BA in Economics from King Saud University in 2000.

Saudi Arabia has won the membership of the UNESCO Executive Council for the period of 2019-2023.

Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud has sent a cable of condolences to Iranian President Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian over the victims of the explosion that occurred at Rajaei Port in Bandar Abbas.

The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques extended his sincere condolences and sympathy to the Iranian President, the families of the deceased, and the people of Iran.

Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister, has sent a similar cable of condolences to Pezeshkian.
