The Iran-backed Houthi militias are continuing their violation of the United Nations ceasefire in western Yemen, committing a new massacre in the Hodeidah province that left 17 women and children dead or injured.
The joint forces and medical sources said the Houthis shelled the village of al-Qaza on Sunday, leaving four children and four women dead and nine children and women wounded.
Some of the victims are only months old, added the sources, as images of the atrocity circulated on social media.
The human rights office in al-Durayhimi condemned the “horrific crime committed by the Houthis.”
“The Houthis will be held accountable to such crimes against humanity sooner or later,” it vowed.
The joint forces media said the Houthi violations of the UN truce have left 35 civilians, mostly women and children, dead in a single week.
The majority of them were either killed by explosives, artillery shelling or sniper fire.
