Students of all levels of school and university education in Saudi Arabia will continue to pursue studies through remote learning for the second semester of the academic year, the Ministry of Education announced on Wednesday.
In a press statement, the ministry stated that a royal decree has been issued to continue distance education until the end of the 10th week of the second semester in all levels of the public, university, and technical education in line with the set previous mechanism.
“The distance learning classes for the intermediate and secondary phases of school education will start from 9 am while the remote classes for the elementary level will start from 3 pm.
This will be in accordance with the powers entrusted to the concerned authorities and councils while taking all precautionary measures and health protocols,” the statement read.
The ministry said that theoretical courses for universities and Technical and Vocational Training Corporation (TVTC) institutes will be held remotely, while university science practical and TVTC training courses will be held physically.
This stems from the leadership's keenness for the safety of students and the continuity of the education journey despite the pandemic, the ministry affirmed.
It reiterated confidence in teachers, faculty members, and trainers in their continued effective management of distance education and training.
Further, it lauded the role of family and parents in this regard.
