The Saudi government reviewed on Tuesday various consultations and talks that have been held in recent days between the Kingdom and several friendly countries over reaching comprehensive political solutions to regional crises.

Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz chaired the cabinet meeting that was held virtually from Neom amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

The ministers praised Crown Prime Mohammed bin Salman, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, on his televised interview last week. The interview focused on the achievements so far of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 that aims to diversify the country’s economy and build a better future for its people.

The cabinet also strongly condemned the terrorist attack that struck Afghanistan’s Logar province that killed 27 people. The ministers underscored Riyadh’s complete solidarity with Kabul against all forms of terrorism.

The cabinet also reviewed the latest developments related to the pandemic, locally and in the world. They noted a fluctuation in new cases in the Kingdom as virus continued to register record daily infections globally.

The ministers urged the citizens and residents of Saudi Arabia to continue to comply with health precautions and sign up to receive the vaccine.

Kuwait's foreign ministry issued on Sunday a circular indicating that it had listed eight hospitals in Lebanon as part of regulations related to "combating terrorism.”

Lebanon's health ministry expressed surprise and said it would seek clarification.

It said it received the Kuwaiti statement "with great surprise", adding it had not been provided with "any information or notification from any Kuwaiti entity about this matter.”

"The hospitals mentioned in the statement are registered with the syndicate of private hospitals in Lebanon and carry out their role in providing treatment and health services to all Lebanese without exception," the ministry statement said.

It called the facilities "an essential part of the Lebanese health system,” and said it would contact the relevant authorities to request clarification and "protect Lebanon's health system.”

It noted that "Kuwait has numerous joint projects with the ministry... and has been among the most prominent countries that have stood by the health system during the successive crises that Lebanon has faced.”

The latest move was "unprecedented and inconsistent" with the Gulf country's usual approach, it added.
