Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad received a UAE delegation led by the Emirati national security adviser Sheikh Tahnoun bin Zayed.

Sheikh Tahnoun and other officials landed in Doha Thursday, state news agency Wam reported.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed "bilateral relations and enhancing cooperation between the two countries, especially in the economic and trade fields and vital investment projects that serve the construction, development, and progress and achieve the common interests of the two countries," state news agency WAM reported.

Anwar Gargash, the diplomatic adviser to Sheikh Khalifa and former Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, described the meeting as "building bridges of cooperation and prosperity with siblings and friends."

He tweeted that the meeting was an example of a "key pillar of Emirati policy" and that they were "turning the page of disagreement and looking to a positive future."

Sheikh Tahnoun conveyed the greetings of President Sheikh Khalifa, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Vice President and Ruler of Dubai, and Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, and their wishes for further progress and prosperity for Qatar and its people.

The Qatari Emir also reciprocated his greetings to Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid and Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed, and his wishes for progress and prosperity to the UAE and its people.

Kuwait's foreign ministry issued on Sunday a circular indicating that it had listed eight hospitals in Lebanon as part of regulations related to "combating terrorism.”

Lebanon's health ministry expressed surprise and said it would seek clarification.

It said it received the Kuwaiti statement "with great surprise", adding it had not been provided with "any information or notification from any Kuwaiti entity about this matter.”

"The hospitals mentioned in the statement are registered with the syndicate of private hospitals in Lebanon and carry out their role in providing treatment and health services to all Lebanese without exception," the ministry statement said.

It called the facilities "an essential part of the Lebanese health system,” and said it would contact the relevant authorities to request clarification and "protect Lebanon's health system.”

It noted that "Kuwait has numerous joint projects with the ministry... and has been among the most prominent countries that have stood by the health system during the successive crises that Lebanon has faced.”

The latest move was "unprecedented and inconsistent" with the Gulf country's usual approach, it added.
