Egypt is relying on the people’s vigilance and awareness to counter the fourth wave of the coronavirus pandemic.
The Ministry of Health and Population reported 481 new coronavirus cases, taking the tally to 292,957, 11 deaths, raising the toll to 16,871, and 651 recoveries, to take the total to 246,726.
Presidential Adviser for Health and Prevention Affairs Mohamed Awad Tag El Din stressed that the current situation in the country was reassuring and the new caseload has not increased much previous waves.
The Health Ministry affirmed that it is increasing its preparedness in all provinces, following up closely the coronavirus updates and taking the necessary precautions in this regard.
Dr. Hossam Hosny, head of the scientific committee to combat the coronavirus at the Ministry of Health, acknowledged an increase in cases, adding that the country will overcome the fourth wave through the state’s efforts and the people’s cooperation.
In televised statements, Hosny assured the people that all the coronavirus vaccines are safe and effective.
