Head of the Libyan Presidential Council Mohamed al-Menfi inaugurated on Wednesday a high-level meeting on the peace process in Libya.
The meeting was attended by foreign ministers of the US, Germany, Italy, and France. It was held at the headquarters of the Permanent Mission of Germany to the United Nations.
On the sidelines of the meeting, the US Secretary of State affirmed that his country supports the political process Libya, based on the Geneva outcomes on the withdrawal of mercenaries and foreign forces from all Libyan territories.
As for German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas, he told the UN gathering that “the international community expects Libyan officials in Tripoli and the rest of the country to work for presidential and legislative elections to take place as scheduled on December 24.”
