Arab League Secretary-General Ahmed Aboul Gheit kicked off Tuesday a visit to Tunisia and Libya to participate in different meetings to be held in the two countries.
In Tunis, Aboul Gheit is expected to hold talks with Tunisian President Kais Saied and Prime Minister Najla Bouden Romdhane.
A statement by the Arab League (AL) said the Secretary-General would participate in the opening of the 21st session of the Arab Radio and Television Festival, which is scheduled to be held under the slogan “Connection and Renewal,” and is organized by the Arab States Broadcasting Union (ASBU).
The festival will bring together the main actors from the various media platforms including the print media, audiovisual and digital, to discuss pressing files and challenges the media sector has been facing.
Aboul Gheit will also attend the opening of the ASBU TV and radio equipment exhibition, which introduces new audio and visual technological developments and innovations.
He also plans to participate at the high-level “Arab Cyber Security Forum” held in Tunis under the title: “Landscape of cyber security in the Arab region and the Way Forward,” which will see the fist common Arab cyber security vision.
On Thursday, Aboul Gheit will then head to Libya to participate in a ministerial meeting in Tripoli, the first that Libya hosts in years on the Libya Stability Initiative, which was called for by the Libyan Government of National Unity (GNU).
