Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi held talks on Monday with British Prime Minister Boris Johnson on boosting bilateral cooperation.
The meeting was held on the sidelines of the UN Climate Change Conference (COP26), which is being held in Glasgow, Scotland.
Sisi praised Britain for holding the summit in spite of the challenges posed by the coronavirus pandemic.
He stressed Egypt’s support to the British chairmanship of the conference, saying his country looks forward to hosting the 27th UN Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP27).
Johnson, for his part, said Egypt was one of Britain’s main partners in the Middle East, hoping to deepen ties with it in various fields.
Sisi expressed his appreciation for the development of bilateral ties between Cairo and London, saying Egypt was looking forward to bolstering cooperation and political coordination over various issues of common interest.
The two leaders agreed to open new horizons of cooperation, bolster Britain’s involvement in Egypt’s development plans, and support bilateral cooperation in various fields, especially investment, security, intelligence, military, tourism, health, and education, said Egyptian Presidency Bassam Radi.
