Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan discussed with his Iraqi counterpart Fuad Mohammad Hussein opportunities to enhance bilateral coordination in various political, security, and economic fields.

This came during their meeting Friday on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference (MSC) in Germany, which is set to continue until Feb 20.

The top officials addressed ways to enhance bilateral efforts in combating terrorism and extremism to bring greater stability to the Middle East and preserve international peace and security.

They reviewed historical brotherly relations in many areas of cooperation and ways to support and strengthen them to serve the two countries' interests and achieve more stability and prosperity for the two countries.

They also exchanged views on many regional and international issues.

Prince Faisal later met with the President of the Iraqi Kurdistan Region Nechirvan Barzani. They reviewed opportunities for developing and enhancing bilateral relations, and exchanged views on many regional and international issues.

Also on the sidelines of the MSC, the Saudi Foreign reviewed with Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili aspects of bilateral relations between the two countries.

They discussed ways to support and enhance the brotherly ties to serve the interests of both countries and achieve more stability and prosperity.

During the meeting, Prince Farhan and the Georgian PM touched on opportunities to enhance bilateral coordination in various political, security, and economic fields.

The officials discussed enhancing bilateral efforts in combating terrorism and extremism.

Furthermore, the Saudi FM met his Latvian counterpart Edgars Rinkevics. They discussed aspects of bilateral relations in many areas of cooperation and ways to support and enhance them.

Foreign ministers worldwide and representatives from governmental and civil bodies and institutions will attend the Munich Security Conference to discuss the most critical issues and developments in the international political and security arena.

The conference will also discuss global health and environmental issues and explore mechanisms and solutions to strengthen international peace and security and achieve sustainable development goals.

Kuwait's foreign ministry issued on Sunday a circular indicating that it had listed eight hospitals in Lebanon as part of regulations related to "combating terrorism.”

Lebanon's health ministry expressed surprise and said it would seek clarification.

It said it received the Kuwaiti statement "with great surprise", adding it had not been provided with "any information or notification from any Kuwaiti entity about this matter.”

"The hospitals mentioned in the statement are registered with the syndicate of private hospitals in Lebanon and carry out their role in providing treatment and health services to all Lebanese without exception," the ministry statement said.

It called the facilities "an essential part of the Lebanese health system,” and said it would contact the relevant authorities to request clarification and "protect Lebanon's health system.”

It noted that "Kuwait has numerous joint projects with the ministry... and has been among the most prominent countries that have stood by the health system during the successive crises that Lebanon has faced.”

The latest move was "unprecedented and inconsistent" with the Gulf country's usual approach, it added.
