The Saudi government stressed on Tuesday the Kingdom's keenness that Yemen achieve security, stability and prosperity.

Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz chaired the cabinet meeting that was held in Jeddah.

The government underscored Riyadh's full support to the Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council as it is tasked with carrying out the transition and ending the crisis.

It reiterated the Kingdom's call to hold an international donor conference to support Yemen's economy and provide it with oil derivatives.

The cabinet underlined Saudi Arabia's keenness on consolidating security and stability in the region and entire world. The Kingdom backs dialogue and peaceful solutions, providing the necessary conditions for development and meeting the people's aspirations for a better future.

The ministers reviewed the results of the joint annual meetings of Arab financial institutions. They stressed that the Kingdom will continue to support joint Arab action, which will help in developing economic ties between Arab countries through regional institutions. It will also continue to offer aid to confront emergencies and humanitarian crises.

The cabinet hailed the Kingdom's position at the donors conference dedicated to financing the international mechanism (COVAX) aimed at providing Covid-19 vaccines. The Kingdom expressed its support to the international community in confronting any potential dangers posed by future coronavirus variants.

The ministers also addressed the Kingdom's announcement that it would welcome a million Hajj and Umrah pilgrims this year. They said that raising the number of pilgrims stems from Saudi Arabia's constant keenness on providing Muslims from around the world with the opportunity to perform the pilgrimages in safe and spiritual environments.

Kuwait's foreign ministry issued on Sunday a circular indicating that it had listed eight hospitals in Lebanon as part of regulations related to "combating terrorism.”

Lebanon's health ministry expressed surprise and said it would seek clarification.

It said it received the Kuwaiti statement "with great surprise", adding it had not been provided with "any information or notification from any Kuwaiti entity about this matter.”

"The hospitals mentioned in the statement are registered with the syndicate of private hospitals in Lebanon and carry out their role in providing treatment and health services to all Lebanese without exception," the ministry statement said.

It called the facilities "an essential part of the Lebanese health system,” and said it would contact the relevant authorities to request clarification and "protect Lebanon's health system.”

It noted that "Kuwait has numerous joint projects with the ministry... and has been among the most prominent countries that have stood by the health system during the successive crises that Lebanon has faced.”

The latest move was "unprecedented and inconsistent" with the Gulf country's usual approach, it added.
