The Saudi government stressed on Tuesday the importance of providing the necessary conditions of development to meet the aspirations of the people of the world for a better future.

Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz chaired the cabinet meeting that was held in Jeddah.

The government reiterated the Kingdom's remarks at the Global Food Security Ministerial Meeting during which it stressed its foreign policy that seeks to establish a bright future, whether in the Middle East or the entire world.

This includes its qualitative initiatives to confront environmental challenges, and humanitarian efforts to support the developing and neediest countries to improve their food security and reduce hunger and poverty.

The cabinet was briefed on the telephone call Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, received from French President Emmanuel Macron on Friday.

Their talks underscored the strategic partnership between Saudi Arabia and France and tackled the latest regional and international developments.

Acting Minister of Media Dr. Majid Al-Qasabi said the cabinet highlighted the outcomes of the meeting of the Joint Strategic Planning Committee between the Saudi Ministry of Defense and the United States Defense Department and the third session of the Saudi-Algerian Political Consultation Committee.

The meetings stressed consensus on bolstering cooperation and coordination to consolidate security and stability in the region and world.

Kuwait's foreign ministry issued on Sunday a circular indicating that it had listed eight hospitals in Lebanon as part of regulations related to "combating terrorism.”

Lebanon's health ministry expressed surprise and said it would seek clarification.

It said it received the Kuwaiti statement "with great surprise", adding it had not been provided with "any information or notification from any Kuwaiti entity about this matter.”

"The hospitals mentioned in the statement are registered with the syndicate of private hospitals in Lebanon and carry out their role in providing treatment and health services to all Lebanese without exception," the ministry statement said.

It called the facilities "an essential part of the Lebanese health system,” and said it would contact the relevant authorities to request clarification and "protect Lebanon's health system.”

It noted that "Kuwait has numerous joint projects with the ministry... and has been among the most prominent countries that have stood by the health system during the successive crises that Lebanon has faced.”

The latest move was "unprecedented and inconsistent" with the Gulf country's usual approach, it added.
