The Saudi government lauded on Tuesday the Kingdom's efforts in mediating between countries to resolve conflicts through peaceful means.

Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz chaired the cabinet meeting that was held in Jeddah.

The cabinet stressed the Kingdom's support for dialogue aimed at reaching conditions that are conducive to stability, security and prosperity, which are the foundations of the development and growth of peoples.

The ministers reviewed the outcomes of the meeting of the 152nd session of the Ministerial Council of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) that tackled the latest developments related to joint Gulf action. They also reviewed the latest regional and international developments.

They highlighted the ministerial strategic dialogue meeting that was held between the GCC and Russia last week and the joint ministerial meeting between the Gulf bloc and Ukraine.

The meetings underscored the unified Gulf stance towards the Russian-Ukrainian conflict and its impact, most notably on food security around the world.

The cabinet reiterated Saudi Arabia's keenness on supporting United Nations efforts aimed at reaching a sustainable political solution to the crisis in Yemen and easing the humanitarian suffering of its people.

It highlighted the State Security's designation of 13 individuals and three entities as terrorist on Monday, underlining the fruitful cooperation between the GCC and United States in combating terrorism.

Kuwait's foreign ministry issued on Sunday a circular indicating that it had listed eight hospitals in Lebanon as part of regulations related to "combating terrorism.”

Lebanon's health ministry expressed surprise and said it would seek clarification.

It said it received the Kuwaiti statement "with great surprise", adding it had not been provided with "any information or notification from any Kuwaiti entity about this matter.”

"The hospitals mentioned in the statement are registered with the syndicate of private hospitals in Lebanon and carry out their role in providing treatment and health services to all Lebanese without exception," the ministry statement said.

It called the facilities "an essential part of the Lebanese health system,” and said it would contact the relevant authorities to request clarification and "protect Lebanon's health system.”

It noted that "Kuwait has numerous joint projects with the ministry... and has been among the most prominent countries that have stood by the health system during the successive crises that Lebanon has faced.”

The latest move was "unprecedented and inconsistent" with the Gulf country's usual approach, it added.
