Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi is scheduled to kick off a two-day visit to Oman on Monday.

A statement from Oman’s royal diwan said Sisi will carry out the visit with the aim of “consolidating the firm fraternal relations between Oman and Egypt, boosting cooperation and developing ties further.”

Sisi will hold talks with officials on a number of issues of joint interest that will serve the peoples of both countries.

In January, the Egyptian ruler had set a message to Sultan of Oman Haitham bin Tariq to underscore his country’s firm position in supporting the security and stability of the Gulf and Arab countries.

The message was delivered by Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry to his counterpart Badr Albusaidi during talks in Muscat.
