United Arab Emirates Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan met with his Cypriot counterpart, Ioannis Kasoulides, on the sidelines of the 77th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, reported the UAE’s state news agency WAM on Saturday.

The officials discussed the UAE-Cypriot strategic relations, and ways to further develop joint cooperation between their countries across various domains.

They also reviewed issues on the agenda of the General Assembly, including climate change, renewable energy and food security.

The diplomats exchanged views on boosting stability in the region to meet the aspirations of its peoples for further development and prosperity, and touched on developments on the regional and international arenas.

Sheikh Abdullah underscored the depth of the UAE-Cypriot ties and the two countries' keenness to strengthen cooperation and support their efforts to achieve sustainable growth at all levels.

The meeting was attended by Reem bint Ibrahim Al Hashemy, Minister of State for International Cooperation; and Ambassador Lana Nusseibeh, Assistant Minister for Political Affairs and Permanent Representative of the UAE to the United Nations.

The Muslim World League (MWL) strongly condemned the attacks targeting the UAE Embassy and the residence of its head of mission in the Syrian capital, Damascus, the Saudi Press Agency said on Sunday.

In a statement, the Muslim World League reiterated its firm rejection and condemnation of attacks and acts of sabotage against civilian and diplomatic facilities and their personnel, emphasizing that such acts constitute violations of international laws and agreements that guarantee their protection.

Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister, Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, sent a cable of congratulations to Anutin Charnvirakul on his re-election as Prime Minister of Thailand, the Saudi Press Agency reported Sunday.

The Crown Prince expressed his best wishes for continued success to the Thai prime minister and for further progress and prosperity to the friendly people of the Kingdom of Thailand.

Saudi Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah held separate phone calls on Sunday with his counterparts from Pakistan, Kuwait and Latvia to review the latest developments in the region, the Saudi Press Agency reported on Monday.

In a phone call with Ishaq Dar, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan, the two ministers discussed ongoing developments and stressed the importance of continued coordination and consultation.

In a separate phone call with Kuwaiti Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, the Saudi Minister discussed the developments in the region and the joint efforts undertaken in this regard.

The Saudi minister also discussed the latest developments with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Latvia Baiba Braze.
