Saudi-Turkmen Talks Discuss International Developments, Bilateral Coordination

Foreign Minister Prince Faisal Bin Farhan held key talks in Ashgabat on Monday, including a meeting with Turkmenistan’s President Serdar Berdimuhamedow.

President Berdimuhamedow received Prince Faisal at the Presidential Palace during his official visit.

At the beginning of the reception, Prince Faisal conveyed the greetings and appreciation of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman and the Crown Prince and Prime Minister Prince Mohammed Bin Salman, to him and wished them more progress and continued sophistication and development.

During the reception, they reviewed bilateral relations between the two countries, in addition to discussing the latest developments in the international arena.

The Saudi minister praised the positive meeting he had with the president, and that the Kingdom has a distinguished relationship with Turkmenistan.

Prince Faisal noted that relations between the two countries extended for about 30 years.

He said that this visit comes within the framework of strengthening strong relations, exploring new opportunities in all fields and transferring them to wider horizons.

Later, Prince Faisal met with Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov.

They held an official session of talks. The two sides reviewed bilateral relations between the two countries and ways to strengthen and develop them in all fields.

In addition to discussing the consolidation of bilateral coordination in many political, security and multilateral fields at various levels, along with exchanging views on regional and international issues of common interest.

Speaking at a symposium, Prince Faisal affirmed that ties between the two countries are strong and that compatibility of views, aspirations and common interests was prevalent.

The minister praised efforts of the Saudi-Turkmen joint committee, describing it as the backbone of developing and activating the political and economic relations between the Kingdom and Turkmenistan.

Prince Faisal said that the region, in the past three decades, has witnessed many events and political tensions that had an impact on the international scene.

Nevertheless, Saudi Arabia and Turkmenistan managed to maintain a solid and strong relationship.

Saudi Minister of Justice Walid Al-Samaani has visited the European Union Agency for Criminal Justice Cooperation (Eurojust) in The Hague.

During his visit on Tuesday, he was received by Eurojust President Michael Schmid, with whom he discussed ways to enhance cooperation in the judicial and legal fields in a manner that promotes justice and human rights.

Al-Samaani highlighted the key developments in the Kingdom’s judicial sector, supported by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, within the framework of the Saudi Vision 2030.

He pointed out that the right to litigate is guaranteed to both citizens and residents of the Kingdom, with all judicial guarantees provided, ensuring equal treatment for all parties and fairness in disputes.

He also highlighted the key reforms in the judicial sector that have reinforced the principles of transparency and public access, including recording court sessions with audio and video, publishing judicial rulings, launching electronic litigation services, and activating the preventive justice system.
