An informed source at the Saudi Foreign Ministry stressed on Tuesday that the natural wealth in the "Divided Area”, including the Durra gas field, are exclusively jointly shared with Kuwait.
The source made the statement to the Saudi Press Agency in wake of media reports over the Durra field.
Saudi Arabia and Kuwait have the exclusive right to exploit the wealth in that region, reiterated the source.
It added that the Kingdom renews its invitation to Iran to kick off negotions to demarcate the eastern border of the Divided Area, which lies between Saudi Arabia and Kuwait, according to international law.
Kuwait on Monday had also called Iran to start the demarcation negotiations with the two countries as one negotiating party.
