Qatar's Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani named Dr. Sultan Salmeen Saeed Al Mansouri as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the United Arab Emirates.

The move marks a major diplomatic milestone six years after the UAE severed all ties with Qatar.

The decision follows the restoration of diplomatic ties between Qatar and the UAE on June 19, 2023, which included the restart of operations at the Qatar Embassy in Abu Dhabi and its consulate in Dubai, as well as the UAE Embassy in Doha.
