Saudi Arabia on Thursday condemned a move by the Israeli national security minister and a group of settlers to storm the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound in Jerusalem.
In a statement, the Saudi Foreign Ministry said the visit of Itamar Ben-Gvir to Al-Aqsa Mosque was a “flagrant violation” of international law and “provocation” to Muslims across the world.
The Ministry “held the Israeli occupation fully accountable for the repercussions of such continued violations.”
It reiterated its call on the international community “to shoulder its responsibility to end the Israeli occupation escalation, provide necessary protection for civilians and exert all efforts to end the conflict.”
