Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud has directed that the additional assistance granted to beneficiaries of the Citizen Account Program be extended for two more months, until September 2023, and that registration for the program be kept open.

The royal order is upon the recommendation of Prince Mohammed bin Salma n bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince, Prime Minister and Chairman of the Council of Economic and Development Affairs.

The Citizen Account Program was created to protect Saudi households from the impact of global price hikes.

A royal directive was issued in July 2022 to allocate additional financial support to the beneficiaries of the Citizen Account Program until the end of the fiscal year 2022. Later, this period was extended and the registration for the program was kept open until July 2023 as per the royal directives issued in January and April 2023, SPA reported.

Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi strongly condemned on Saturday the Israeli forces' burning of the Kamal Adwan Hospital in Gaza and the forced evacuation of all patients and medical staff.

Albudaiwi described the attack on the medical facility as a dangerous escalation that deepens the suffering of Palestinians in Gaza and the occupied territories. He called for immediate international action to halt these violations.

Such actions not only worsen the humanitarian crisis, but also are violations of international laws designed to protect civilians and medical institutions during times of conflict, he remarked.

Albudaiwi urged the international community to provide urgent support to Gaza’s medical sector, which is grappling with catastrophic conditions caused by these attacks.
