The Saudi Music Commission will hold the second edition of the International Opera Festival on November 2-4.
The event will be held at the Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University in Riyadh. The festival will include various opera performances and an exhibition of iconic pieces from the opera world.
The three-day festival will host a group of the most famous opera artists; it will feature the World Philharmonic Orchestra and hold an exhibition of Franco Zeffirelli's opera productions, targeting music lovers of different ages and local and international music celebrities.
By holding the festival, the Music Commission aims to establish an international annual event to celebrate opera as one of the distinctive musical forms, presenting it to local talents and audiences as an important symbol of arts and culture, as well as contributing to supporting the music sector, enriching local culture and learning about global cultures.
