Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, received in Riyadh on Thursday British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak.

The officials discussed the military escalation in Gaza, with Crown Prince Mohammed emphasizing the importance of exerting all possible efforts to reduce military escalation to ensure that the violence does not expand and cause dangerous repercussions to security and peace in the region and the world.

He stressed the need for creating conditions that can restore stability and peace and guarantee the Palestinian people their legitimate rights.

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia considers the targeting of civilians in Gaza a heinous crime and a brutal attack, he stated, stressing the need to provide them with protection.

Sunak had arrived in Saudi Arabia on Thursday.

Sunak’s office said the UK leader and Crown Prince Mohammed agreed on the need to get humanitarian aid into Gaza and “underscored the need to avoid any further escalation in the region.”

Later on Thursday, Crown Prince Mohammed received a telephone call from United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres.

They reviewed the ongoing military escalation in Gaza.

Crown Prince Mohammed stressed the need for intensified international and regional efforts to halt the military operations and reduce escalation to prevent their repercussions on regional and international peace and security.

He also called for exerting all possible efforts to prevent the expansion of violence, which would impact regional stability.

Crown Prince Mohammed underscored the importance of working to restore stability and revive the peace process that guarantees that the Palestinians receive their legitimate rights.

He also underlined the important role of the United Nations and its affiliated institutions in creating safe humanitarian corridors to provide medical and food assistance to civilians under siege in Gaza.

Kuwait's foreign ministry issued on Sunday a circular indicating that it had listed eight hospitals in Lebanon as part of regulations related to "combating terrorism.”

Lebanon's health ministry expressed surprise and said it would seek clarification.

It said it received the Kuwaiti statement "with great surprise", adding it had not been provided with "any information or notification from any Kuwaiti entity about this matter.”

"The hospitals mentioned in the statement are registered with the syndicate of private hospitals in Lebanon and carry out their role in providing treatment and health services to all Lebanese without exception," the ministry statement said.

It called the facilities "an essential part of the Lebanese health system,” and said it would contact the relevant authorities to request clarification and "protect Lebanon's health system.”

It noted that "Kuwait has numerous joint projects with the ministry... and has been among the most prominent countries that have stood by the health system during the successive crises that Lebanon has faced.”

The latest move was "unprecedented and inconsistent" with the Gulf country's usual approach, it added.
