Saudi Minister of Defense Prince Khalid bin Salman bin Abdulaziz met in his office in Riyadh with the UK Secretary of State for Defense, Grant Shapps, said SPA on Thursday.

The two officials discussed the strategic relations between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United Kingdom. They also discussed aspects of cooperation in the military and defense fields, and ways to enhance and develop them.

The two sides also discussed the military escalation in Gaza and its surroundings, and the international efforts exerted in that regard.
The Saudi Minister stressed the need to calm the situation in Gaza.

The meeting was attended by the Saudi ambassador to the UK, Prince Khaled bin Bandar bin Sultan, the Vice Minister of Defense, Prince Abdulrahman bin Mohammed bin Ayyaf, several senior officials and the delegation accompanying the UK minister.

Director of Public Security Mohammed Al-Bassami and Assistant Minister of Interior for the Public Security Sector of Egypt Mahmoud Abu Amra co-chaired on Tuesday the second meeting of the Saudi–Egyptian Joint Security Committee in Riyadh.

The meeting discussed a number of issues related to strengthening security cooperation between the two brotherly countries, exchanging expertise, and coordinating joint efforts to combat crime in the implementation of the cooperation agreement signed between the two sides in this field, SPA reported.

The meeting falls within the framework of the fraternal relations and ongoing cooperation between Saudi Arabia and Egypt, and both sides' keenness to develop mechanisms of joint coordination, thereby raising the efficiency of security work and enhancing security and stability in both countries.

Saudi Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah received in Riyadh on Monday his Syrian counterpart Asaad Al-Shaibani.

They reviewed fraternal relations between their two countries and discussed developments in Syria.

They also tackled ways to support Syria's security and economy in a manner that fulfills the aspirations of its people.

Saudi Arabia reiterated on Monday its unwavering support for the unity, security, and stability of Sudan, stressing the need to preserve its legitimate state institutions.

The Kingdom demanded that the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) immediately cease their violations and adhere to their moral and humanitarian obligations. This includes ensuring the delivery of relief aid to those in need, in line with international humanitarian law and the Jeddah Declaration to Protect Civilians in Sudan, signed on May 11, 2023.

Saudi Arabia delivered its statement during the interactive dialogue on the High Commissioner for Human Rights' oral briefing regarding the situation in and around El-Fasher. The Kingdom's Permanent Mission to the United Nations and other international organizations in Geneva participated in the session.

Delivering the statement, Permanent Representative Ambassador Abdulmohsen bin Khothaila reiterated the Kingdom's "strong condemnation of the grave human rights violations committed during the RSF's attacks on El-Fasher."

He specifically highlighted "recent criminal attacks on health facilities, relief convoys, and civilian infrastructure, which have resulted in the deaths of dozens of displaced persons and unarmed civilians, including women and children."
