Hezbollah has rejected international proposals to withdraw from regions bordering Israel in southern Lebanon.
Party MP Hassan Fadlallah said the “European diplomatic mobilization towards Lebanon is aimed at introducing changes in the South to reassure Zionist settlers so that they can return to their settlements in the north.”
“Let them know that we are not concerned at all about reassuring them because they are occupiers,” he stressed.
“All this diplomacy, which started off as threats and intimidation and now incentives, will not change the resistance equation one bit,” Fadlallah added.
“We cannot discuss any of these proposals or heed these threats as we are dealing with threats on the ground. Our response to all of this will always be on the ground,” he remarked.
Calm will be restored once the aggression on Gaza ends, he went on to say. “We are defending our country.”
Member of Hezbollah’s executive council Hashem Safieddine said: “Today's battle isn’t about defending the South, but it is a battle for Gaza.”
“It is tied to the future of Lebanon, the South, border, oil and gas. Lebanon’s policy is linked to our region,” he stated.
