The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) signed on Monday a memorandum of cooperation with the Saudi Development and Reconstruction Program for Yemen (SDRPY) to implement volunteer programs and initiatives in Yemen.
The memorandum was signed by KSrelief Assistant Supervisor General for Planning and Development Dr. Aqeel bin Jamaan Al-Ghamdi and SPDRY Assistant Supervisor General Eng. Hassan Al-Attas at the center in Riyadh.
It is part of the humanitarian and relief projects carried out by Saudi Arabia, through KSrelief, to help the brotherly Yemeni people achieve security, stability and development.
Earlier, the Saudi Press Agency reported that KSrelief’s Masam Project, dedicated to clearing mines in Yemen, successfully dismantled 826 mines in the third week of December 2023.
The tally includes five anti-personnel mines, 116 anti-tank mines, 681 unexploded ordnance, and one explosive device.
A total of 426,090 mines have been dismantled since the project’s inception.
Saudi Arabia, represented by KSrelief, aims to clear Yemeni territories of all mines, which have caused the death and injury of innocent children, women, and the elderly.
