The CEO of the General Entertainment Authority (GEA), Eng. Faisal Bafarat, crowned the Belarusian tennis player, Aryna Sabalenka, with the Riyadh Season Cup, after beating her Tunisian counterpart, Ons Jabeur, with a score of 4:6, 6:3, 6:2, in the Riyadh Season Women’s Tennis Cup match on Tuesday in the Kingdom Arena.
The arena witnessed a ceremony that served enjoyable details to the audience, full of excitement and enthusiasm, SPA reported.
Sabalenka said that the Kingdom is making tremendous strides in hosting major sporting events, especially tennis matches, stressing that her match with Ons Jabeur was one of the high-class matches, and playing against her is fun.
The 25-year-old Belarusian player has attained advanced positions in tennis tournaments, as she ranked first in singles last September, and won 13 singles tournaments, including the Australian Open and the Madrid Open in 2023, and achieved 6 tournaments in doubles, including the Australian Open in 2021.
