Saudi Arabia’s Project for the Utilization of Sacrificial Animals, also known as Adahi, has helped serve pilgrims and make Hajj and Umrah easier. The project has been running for four decades.
During this year’s Hajj season, Adahi has secured over a million animals for pilgrims, according to Dr. Omar Attiya, the project's supervisor.
Despite rising prices, the project has successfully managed to keep the cost of its voucher at 720 Saudi riyals, meeting religious and veterinary standards.
The project offers a variety of products including sacrificial animals and general charitable offerings, meeting the needs of pilgrims and the community comprehensively.
Regarding the accessibility of vouchers, Attiya confirmed to Asharq Al-Awsat that Adahi provides a diverse range of channels for obtaining the service, making it easier for pilgrims and beneficiaries to access the project’s vouchers.
These methods include the project’s online platform, which offers a user-friendly and secure interface for buying vouchers. The process is closely monitored. Voucher purchase services are also available through a network of partners.
In banking, vouchers are distributed through Al Rajhi Bank and Bank Al-Bilad.
Exclusive partners also distributing the vouchers include the “Ehsan” platform, the Hajj and Mu’tamer’s Gift Charitable Association, also known as Hadiyah, as well as the Saudi Post.
These avenues enable safe and easy voucher purchases through digital platforms, apps, branches, service outlets, and direct sales kiosks in Makkah.
Attiya explained that Adahi works closely with security and regulatory authorities to tackle any issues in the field.
This follows a government decree to control the issuance and sale of vouchers for pilgrims.
He also mentioned that the project provides various digital and non-digital sales outlets in and around Makkah, ensuring safe transactions to protect pilgrims from fraud.
Attiya urged pilgrims and visitors to avoid dealing with unofficial or suspicious entities and to report any violations to the authorities.
