The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, described the month of Ramadan as a “great season of blessings,” urging people to seize the opportunity to engage in acts of worship.

His words came in a speech addressed to Saudi citizens, residents, and Muslims worldwide on the occasion of the holy month, delivered on his behalf by Saudi Minister of Media Salman Al-Dosari.

Later, King Salman posted on his official account on the social media platform X: “I congratulate you on the blessed month of Ramadan, a month of mercy, generosity, and giving. We ask Allah to accept our fasting, prayers, and good deeds and to grant continued goodness and peace to us, our Islamic nation, and the entire world.”

As part of the annual royal tradition of communicating with leaders of Islamic nations during this occasion, King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman sent congratulatory telegrams to the kings, presidents, and rulers of Islamic countries.

In return, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and the Crown Prince received congratulatory messages from Islamic leaders on the advent of Ramadan, responding with messages of gratitude, appreciating the kind wishes and sincere prayers.

Following King Salman’s directives, the Saudi Ministry of Interior has begun implementing procedures for pardoning inmates convicted in public rights cases, ensuring their release and reunion with their families.

Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif, Minister of Interior, expressed his deep appreciation for the care and attention King Salman and the Crown Prince extend to inmates by facilitating their reintegration into society. He described this humanitarian gesture as a noble act from the leadership, emphasizing its profound impact on the beneficiaries and their families. He also instructed all relevant authorities to expedite the implementation of the royal decree.

Kuwait's foreign ministry issued on Sunday a circular indicating that it had listed eight hospitals in Lebanon as part of regulations related to "combating terrorism.”

Lebanon's health ministry expressed surprise and said it would seek clarification.

It said it received the Kuwaiti statement "with great surprise", adding it had not been provided with "any information or notification from any Kuwaiti entity about this matter.”

"The hospitals mentioned in the statement are registered with the syndicate of private hospitals in Lebanon and carry out their role in providing treatment and health services to all Lebanese without exception," the ministry statement said.

It called the facilities "an essential part of the Lebanese health system,” and said it would contact the relevant authorities to request clarification and "protect Lebanon's health system.”

It noted that "Kuwait has numerous joint projects with the ministry... and has been among the most prominent countries that have stood by the health system during the successive crises that Lebanon has faced.”

The latest move was "unprecedented and inconsistent" with the Gulf country's usual approach, it added.
